Winners of the NoFrills Fundraiser: Jeff Christner 1st place, Shirley Diepenbrock and Fernando Kempff tied for second. Each get a $25 gift certificate to the ClubSwag Store. $2095 raised. Fernando was present to get his gift certificate. Jim announces we got more donations and are up to $2400.
Rotary Rose Bowl Float Decorating Trip: Lisa and Shirley sat in on the zoom call for the end of December trip. Some of the speakers had participated in the past and said it really is a memorable, exciting and bucket list trip. If anyone is interested at all, a commitment is needed by the end of August. Allison and Lisa will be going! Contact Lisa if you might also be interested.
DAP Grant: RCSA grant is $1260; w/ match ~$2500. The project is for the repair/finish-out/shelving and stocking of a shed at Sunset Valley Elementary to be known as Room for Requirement. It’s a Harry Potter reference. The room will provide shelf stable food, winter clothing, school supplies for many of the economically disadvantage families of the school. Partners are Girl Scouts and the PTA. The workdays will likely be the end of Sept or first of Oct. We’ll need lots of hands! The application to the district is in process to be submitted before the end of August. More to come.
