South Austin Rotary Members and Friends have accepted the Challenge of Rotary International President Ian Riseley that every Rotarian worldwide (over ½ million) Plant a Tree in celebration of their 2017-2018 theme of “Making A Difference.”  The South Austin Rotary Club will be planting 30 new Fruit Trees at Austin’s Community First Village on Saturday February 10th, Rotary District 5870 Arbor Day In fact, this day has been Proclaimed by the Mayor’s Office as Rotary Arbor Day! 
 
Choosing the location to plant the trees was an easy selection. The Austin Community First Village is an outstanding organization providing true service to the community. This 27-acre master planned community provides affordable, permanent housing and a supportive community for the disabled, chronically homeless in Central Texas. A development of Mobile Loaves & Fishes, this transformative residential program exists to love and serve our neighbors who have been living on the streets, while also empowering the surrounding community into a lifestyle of service with the homeless.
 
Meet up at The Community First Village at 9am on Saturday February 10th  -  Bring a shovel if you have one and a pair of gloves and come dressed for tree planting!  Directions
