She has served as a board member for Texas Association of Community College Foundations, the Robert S. Love Foundation, and Central Texas Advocates for Parkinson’s. Amy takes the Rotary motto of Service Above Self to heart by serving her community as a volunteer to many charities centered around education. Welcome, Amy!

Her message to us today was titled “Leading with Love”.  Their Student-Led Values are Courage, Compassion, Joy and Yes!  They serve seven counties on eleven campuses and have 70,000 students.  They offer four Bachelor Degrees, Nursing, Cybersecurity, Software Development and Manufacturing Engineering Technology. They also offer over 100 programs in 10 areas of study and include associate degrees, university transfer credits and career-technical certificates.

The economic impact of ACC in Central Texas is great.  ACC adds $2.6 Billion to the Central Texas economy each year in terms of spending, jobs and alumni impact because 85% of graduates remain in Texas!  ACC has a unique Free Tuition program for students enrolled full-time.  However, there are many non-tuition costs, and many students need additional financial assistance for textbooks, uniforms, equipment, licensure and certificate exams fees, transportation, childcare and emergency financial hardships.  This is where we can help!

We can volunteer at events, help plan or coordinate events, share the ACC story of a quality education at an affordable cost and yes…actual donations.
