Deb is the Volunteer Coordinator and Spanish Prorgam Manager for Drive a Senior ATX.  They have several Rotary volunteers who drive for them, and they are the best drivers!  Deb has worked for a non-profit all of her life and it’s the only thing that she would enjoy doing.
Drive a Senior ATX has 60 clients and 220 volunteers, but not all drive.  Chariot serves 600-700 clients but only has 40 volunteers.

To qualify clients must be 60 or older, live within their service boundaries, and have the ability to walk, walkers are OK, but they cannot service those in wheelchairs.  Services are always free to the client.

They help older adults retain their dignity by providing transportation for them so they can still go to the grocery store, YMCA, church, pick up prescriptions or food, etc. They offer clients two rides a week program. Volunteers get in-person training.  They have service coordinators that match volunteers with clients.
Clients are very grateful for the driver volunteers.  They also offer other services such as going to their home to check on them or just keep them company.  Drive a Senior offers different activities throughout the year like game days and coffee meets.
