About Rotary Club of South Austin
About The South Austin Rotary Club
Chartered in 1958, the Rotary Club of South Austin is one of the oldest clubs in Austin and one of over 32,000 clubs in Rotary International. South Austin Rotary has played an instrumental role in chartering several clubs in the Austin area such as The Oak Hill Club, The East Austin Club, The Bee Caves Club, The Lakeway Club, and The West Lake Club. Our Club is rich with both experience and drive to spread the works of Rotary.
- We have no age limit or requirements, and in fact are very diverse in the age of our membership.
- We are more affordable than many Rotary Clubs. Our dues are reasonable and we have plenty of opportunity to give of time and energy versus writing checks.
- We hold fundraisers like many other clubs. Our main source of income, which supports both our local and international projects, comes from our Annual Golf Tournament. This is a very large event which is well attended and a lot of fun to participate in.
- We target members from all over town. You do not have to live or work in a specific area of town to join the club.
- We adhere to Rotary’s standard of a speaker each week. We have a very seasoned team in charge of planning these programs and always have amazing speakers covering a large variety of topics.
- Our meetings are casual and inviting for members and guest.
- We are social! We host fellowship meetings (a.k.a. happy hours) throughout the year. We are more than Rotarians, we are all good friends.
- We are diverse! Our membership has a large percentage of both men and women and our classifications (professions) are broad for a smaller club. Although, we all come from different backgrounds and different professional lives, we all have a common desire to serve and this is what brings us together.
We hope you will join us at one of our regular Wednesday meetings, a fellowship meeting, or one of our projects around Austin!
