"Growing up in Ukraine, Mariya dreamed of one day seeing a raccoon. Now she gets to see over 400 of them a year working for Austin Wildlife Rescue! Mariya blends her medical, early educational and artistic background to create educational programs for AWR as well as children's illustrations for other projects. She has lent her art to over 15 publications, and her award-winning picture book Little Moss, Big Tree has been translated into Chinese."
