Jim was born in Kennett, MO, but if you ask him, he will say he’s from St. Louis because he lived there for 25 years.  His occupation was a General Contractor which is a company that brings together sub-contractors to complete a construction.  In 1983 he went to work for a company and in 1986 the economy sank, so in 1987 he started his own General Contracting company and now his son, Keith, manages it.  Jim has been retired for ten years now.
When they moved to South Austin he joined South Austin Rotary Club and was a member from 1984 to 1987.  Because he traveled for work on Wednesday, Thursday and Fridays, he switched to the downtown club which met on Tuesdays, but he didn’t like it as well as the South Austin club, so after twenty years he retired and was able to come back to the South Austin club and is still here!
