•    Mickie promoted our Pies for Polio event on November 19, 6pm-8pm at BJ Brewery in Sunset Valley.  Bring friends, bring a pie to raffle off, help raise funds, and have some fun!
Mickie shared that she grew up in polio times; her brother contracted it as a child. She recently learned     that 95% of people with polio don’t show any symptoms. When he was diagnosed and she was also     sick, she probably had it. She passed around a copy of the Rotary magazine that shows a historical photo     of a roomful of children in iron lungs.  Polio is only endemic in two countries, Pakistan and     Afghanistan, where there are 49 cases currently.
•    Our service project at Todos Juntos (901 Trinity Ave.) is November 7 at 9 AM to 4 PM. We need at least 8 volunteers and only have 5 volunteers so far. It’s a simple project but urgently needed; we must install a liner on a metal spike fence. We need 2 cordless high-speed drills, 2 impact wrenches, 4 ladders. Contact Jim McComb if you need more info. Jim will send an email soon with more information.
•    Dawn Lewis announced the Christmas card sales for TerraClear. One hundred percent of the money goes to providing clean water in Laos. Each card indicates a donation of $10, 20, 40, or 75. $75 provides clean water to a family for 10 years.

Thanks to someone's donation, SARC moved from #28 to #7 in Annual Fund donations in the leaderboard for this fall's matching grant campaign.
