Dr. Jeanne Cox - Field of Honor in Georgetown
Nov. 04, 2026 12:00 p.m.
Jeanne Cox, Ed.D Biography
Dr. Jeanne Cox has been a committed Rotarian for more than 20 years and has served in many club leadership roles and board positions including club president, and District 5330 Peace Fellowship Chair, Assistant Governor, and other District positions in Southern California. She was also proud to be invited to ride on the Rotary Rose Parade Float in 2011 representing Latin America. Jeanne has always been deeply involved in serving her community well beyond her Rotary service. Since moving to Texas, she has served on several boards, including chairing the Long Term Recovery Committee following the 2015 Memorial Day Floods, and her current roles on the CTX Baylor Scott and White Foundation board and the Advisory Board of Yesterday’s Gone. She also serves in a regional capacity in her Church leadership’s Communication Council. After retiring, Jeanne and her (now) late husband, traveled the US for nearly 3 years full time in a motor home prior to making Georgetown their home. She transferred her membership to the Rotary Club of Georgetown where she introduced the idea of the Field of Honor® in 2016, started it in 2017, and has chaired it since then. Jeanne’s inspiration for establishing and leading the Field of Honor® in Georgetown is her daughter, who has has served in the U.S. Navy for 24 years as a Corpsman, and is currently a Command Master Chief based in the Bureau of Medicine and Surgery in Falls Church Virginia.
Jeanne earned a dual bachelor’s degree in business administration and management, a master’s degree in organizational management, and a doctorate degree in education (Ed.D) with an emphasis in organizational leadership. Her professional life was primarily in the financial services industry, followed by being a higher education administrator and adjunct professor.
After being widowed in 2017, Jeanne remarried in 2019 following a Hallmark movie style romance. Her husband, Michael Cox, is a local Realtor and talented graphic designer, a fellow Rotarian, and most importantly, the love of her life. Their blended family is made up of 6 adult children, 8.9 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and a very spoiled Australian Shepherd.
