Rotarians Taking Action on Service Texas Day!

The Rotary Club of South Austin and Rotary Club of Austin Southwest rolled up their sleeves for an incredible day of service by sponsoring a Rise Against Hunger emergency food packaging event in partnership with Oak Hill United Methodist Church.

In just two hours, volunteers packed an amazing 10,000 meals that will help fight hunger and support families in need around the world. 🌎Our club had 8 volunteers: Patty & Jim Hoyt, Lisa & Kory Killough, Mickie Powers & Mini Kestner, and Jenny & Jeff Turney.   Thanks to all for preparing 10,000 meals!

When Rotarians and community partners come together, we truly show what Service Above Self looks like in action.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!!!  Our DAP Grant Service project for this year will be to install & organize five closet areas with shelving and organizational supplies at Adventurers Academy of Lifelong Learning, 1010 Meredith Dr, Austin, TX 78748 (parking in the rear).

This project was approved by district and will be Wednesday, April 14th from 9:00-4:00.  Lunch provided.  This project will replace our regular meeting!  Watch for an email from Lisa with details. We will also meet at the Adventurers Academy on Tuesday at 9:00 to prepare the closets for the new shelving. Please let Lisa know if you can help on either day.

Club Assembly - April 1

Club Assembly – we played two truths and a lie.  Everyone completed a card with three things on it and their name.  Lisa read the three things and members guessed whose card it was and then guessed which item was a lie.  If they guessed the lie, they received an Easter egg filled with chocolate candies.  It was lots of fun and amazing how well we knew each other!
