How We Give Back
 

Supporting Local School

Built and installed a gaga pit and benches for the kids at Sunset Valley Elementary.  
 

Built a Wheelchair Ramp

Members joined with another Rotary Club and Texas Ramp Project Austin to build a much needed ramp.

 

Helping the Homeless

South Austin Rotary supports a Clothes Closet and Soup Kitchen at a 170 bed transitional housing facility in southeast Austin.

September Member Spotlight is Jeff Christner! SOUTH AUSTIN ROTARY is all about service, community and family! Meet Jeff Christner: I was born in the panhandle city of Canadian, Texas on Christmas Eve. Grew up in the panhandle near our family ranch. Graduated from U.T. Austin in 1984. Began my banking career in 1987 in Galveston. I have been in my current position with ABC Bank since 2001. I've been married to my wife, Milli for 37 years. We have two daughters, Emily and Chesney. We currently live in central Austin.

  • To support herself at that time she taught English
  • She moved to Kuwait and taught English she had already learned Arabic

EarlyAct FirstKnight Stage Set Prop Build
South Austin Rotary Club with some help from the Austin-Southwest Rotary Club built a castle stage set for Eden Park Academy located in south Austin.  Designing, purchasing materials and constructing theater flats were all done ahead of time and on Thursday, July 18th the two clubs came together at the school and made the dreams a reality.

Rotary commits funds to polio outbreak response in Gaza

Rotary is committing US$500,000 to bolster the initiative, channeling these funds through a dedicated Polio Outbreak Response Fund. This contribution represents Rotary's sustained support to the World Health Organization in combating polio globally.
