AD HOC presentation---Akins High School, Agriculture Science Teacher and FFA Advisor, Brandon Callis introduced a seven student panel of Future Farmers of America (FFA). The students chose the topic, “Can mid-level practitioners bridge the labor gap in Veterinary Medicine?”. They presented a forum on this topic to inform the public of the issue, both the pros and the cons. They had a slide presentation to go along with their oral presentation. Both were very good and very interesting! They hope to make it to the State level competitions.
Our holiday service will be a Holiday Collection benefiting Common Ground, I.E., Inc. which is Mickie Power’s soup kitchen. 136 folks will be served this Christmas. Between now Dec 17th we will be collecting : men’s new socks, packaged Christmas candy, cookies or other desserts with a date that goes through Christmas, Randall’s or HEB gift cards, cash, check or Zelle 512-784-4123.
