Winners of the NoFrills Fundraiser: Jeff Christner came in first in fundraising and was presented with a $25 gift certificate to the Club Swag Store.
DAP Grant: Lisa reminded us that the RCSA grant is $1260; w/ match ~$2500. The project is for the repair/finish-out/shelving and stocking of a shed—Sunset Valley Elementary—to be known as Room of Requirement --- We’ll need hands on helpers (besides the Girl Scouts). Estimated work days will start mid-September……One of the DAP requirements is the active participation of Club Members. Please consider assisting us. The property is 8 acres but the two acres to the south and the historic homestead are not currently accessible. The UMPAUF received National Register of Historic Places designation in 2024.
Jeff gave a special thank you to Lisa and Simon filling vacancies for Meals on Wheels deliveries on a regular basis. They have often done back to back weeks.
Allison shared the Doodle Romp Fundraiser is September 14 and volunteers are needed. She also shared a touching story of a senior Doodle who was rescued from an unhealthy shelter in Houston. The poor pooch was injured and neglected. Happily rescued, she is the face of this year’s fundraiser.
